Breakfast Ideas

Strawberry Muesli 3 tablespoons of reduced sugar alpen or muesli with 5 strawberries chopped & added, with semi-skimmed or skimmed milk.

 

Porridge & Honey porridge made with rolled oats, 1 tsp. honey & half a small banana

 

Summer Scramble 2 egg whites & 1 yolk with 1 tsp. milk, serve on 1 slice of brown bread with 2 sliced & grilled

tomatoes

 

Scrambled Egg & Oatcake beat together 1 egg with a tablespoon of natural live yogurt & season with a pinch of turmeric powder & black pepper. Heat oil in pan & add egg mixture & cook over medium heat, serve with 1 oatcake.

 

BLT 1 Brown pitta toasted & filled with 2 slices lean grilled bacon, lettuce & 1 tsp. low fat fromage frais or “Total 0%”

 

Fruity Cereal 3 tablespoons of special K or All Bran with 1 grated apple & 5 strawberries added, and semi skimmed milk

 

Egg & Soldiers Boiled egg with 1 slice of brown or granary bread toasted, 1 tsp. butter.

 

Bacon & Mushroom Scramble 2 slices lean bacon or ham, 2-3 mushrooms (all grilled) 2 egg whites, 1 yolk scrambled with tbsp. milk.

 

Fat Free Egg Scramble 2 tomatoes, 2 mushrooms grilled & added to 3 scrambled egg whites (no yolks)

 

Sardines on Toast 1 slice brown bread with a small tin of sardines

 

Crunchy Yogurt 1 small handful of Jordan’s original crunch with almonds (in a packet at cereal section) mixed into 1 pot of Alpro soya yogurt.

 

Fish fillet on toast any fish fillet poached with a grilled tomato on brown or rye bread.

 

Soaked Linseeds with natural Yogurt 1 tablespoon of linseeds which have been soaked overnight & drained, added to 3 tablespoons of natural live yogurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.

Nutmeg Porridge 2 tablespoons porridge oats combined with water & cooked, cool slightly then add 2 tablespoons of natural live yogurt & a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg.

Three Seed Yogurt 3 tablespoons natural live yogurt, 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds, 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds, 1 heaped teaspoon sesame seeds & a pinch of ground cinnamon.

 

Points to remember: all tsp./tblsp. are level, vary your choices each day, don’t have more than one banana per day, bread must be brown or wholemeal as stated
